I'm an aspiring photographer trying to reach more consistent results from skin undertone tests using my smartphone camera, but I'm running into some troublesome issues with lighting. For example, I took photos of my face in natural window light in the morning, then again under my bedroom's warm incandescent bulb in the evening, and the perceived undertone shifts completely! For instance, would using a ring light with a diffuser make a meaningful difference, or is natural daylight near an indirect south-facing window still the top option? Has anyone played around with affordable LED panels or even DIY solutions like using a white foam board to reflect light?
