Hey all,
I've been endeavoring to figure out whether I fall into Deep Winter or Deep Summer, and frankly, it's been pretty overwhelming. I have dark hair and a skin tone that's hard to define—my undertone is pretty uncertain, so it's tough to tell which palette flatters me best. Some of the Deep Winter colors like the rich navy blues and pure black really emphasize a sharpness in my face, but then I notice that some of the more muted, dusty plums and greys from Deep Summer also make me look put-together and less harsh.
The complicated thing is that both palettes have overlapping cool, deep tones, so it's hard to see the nuanced differences in how they interact with my skin. Sometimes, when I test clothes or scarves from each palette, the lighting changes everything—I can look vibrant one moment and lackluster the next.
I did find some helpful comparison charts online that highlight the key differences between Deep Winter and Deep Summer, especially around undertones and contrast levels, which helped a bit my color palette . But even with those, it's still a difficulty because my skin doesn't lean clearly cool or warm, and my dark hair and eyes don't really tip the scale either.
Has anyone else had this back-and-forth with these deep, cool seasons? How did you eventually deciding which palette fits you better? Are there specific subtle tells or tests that helped you figure it out without going for a full professional analysis? I'd truly appreciate any tips or personal stories so I can stop feeling stuck between these two palettes. Thanks a lot!
