I gave myself a little time sorting the darker clothes already in my closet. My first thought was that Deep Winter was the obvious answer for me. Still, charcoal sweaters can look polished although black near my face sometimes feels too heavy. I tried looking at my usual navy, gray, plum, and espresso pieces in daylight. That small exercise made me question whether one label could explain everything. A friend pointed me toward this color analysis as a way to compare details without chasing a quick label. At the moment I am considering slightly softened dark shades before buying anything truly black. I am curious whether anyone has found a practical way to tell close dark palettes apart? I am deliberately leaving bright lipstick, dramatic jewelry, and online quizzes out of this first comparison. Those may be useful later, but right now I only need a repeatable view of familiar clothing in ordinary daylight. A few careful notes feel more useful than a dramatic makeover or a rushed decision about every future purchase.
